ISO 20000:1:2018 (ITMS)

This standard has been established mainly describing the requirements for creating, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving a service management system (SMS). SMS extends support to the management of the organization of the service lifecycle, which includes the planning, designing, transition as well as delivery and enhancement of services, that meet the defined

requirements and provide value for customers, the users as well as the organization which is engaged in delivering the services.
Adopting SMS is more of a strategic decision for an organization and is motivated by the organization’s goals, the governing body, as well as the other parties that are involved in the service lifecycle, and the requirement for effective and value-added services.

ISO/IEC 20000-10 informs about the terms as well as the definitions contained within the document in addition to terms and conditions not prescribed in the document but utilized in other parts of the ISO/IEC 20000 series.
